This blog is mostly just a place I'm posting any notes I make while studying Rathlin Irish.

Obligatory disclaimer: I'm just a hobbyist, I've no academic background in any linguistics background and I am not a fluent irish speaker.


I would say the current world expert on Rathlin Irish would be Ciaran Dunbar who has published multiple books on East Ulster Gaelic and has collated research notes on his website.

The most complete recording of spoken Rathlin Irish is of a tale recited by Domhnall Mac Mhuitcheartaigh, or Deniel McCurdy.  The tale is known as " The Story about the Bannock ".
